0 FIFA World Player 2009

FIFA.com:Who will be honoured with the title of FIFA World Player and FIFA Women's World Player for 2009? FIFA has today announced the names of the players on the short lists (see below) and the final decision will be made by the captains and head coaches of the men's and women's national teams. At the beginning of December, FIFA will announce the names of the five men and five women who have received the most votes and the winners will be revealed at the 19th FIFA World Player Gala at the Zurich Kongresshaus on 21 December 2009.

It should be noted that coaches and captains may not vote for players from the national team they coach or play for.

The lists of 23 male and ten female candidates for these prestigious awards have been drawn up by football experts from the Football Committee and the Committee for Women's Football and the FIFA Women's World Cup.

0 Valentino Rossi wins seventh MotoGP world title

Italian racer, Valentino Rossi, ensuring himself a MotoGP world champion in 2009 after occupying the third position in the Malaysian GP, Sunday (25/10).

Rossi position in the race that was ultimately won by Australian Ducati rider Casey Stoner. Meanwhile, Spaniard, Dani Pedrosa, was in second position. Rossi, Fiat Yamaha team pebalap already 38 points ahead of closest rival, Jorge Lorenzo, just need a big four positions to defend the world title.

Malaysian GP race was marked by the conviction of the drivers from Spain, Jorge Lorenzo. Second place in qualifying, Saturday, Lorenzo punishment for failing to occupy the position in time. Lorenzo himself eventually finish in fourth.

MotoGP racing was suspended a few minutes due to heavy rain which flushed the Sepang circuit. Previously, the weather was clear enough so that all drivers can do warm-up session Sunday morning.

Rossi retained his world title with one race to spare and heads the championship standings with 286 points. Team-mate Jorge Lorenzo, who finished fourth at Sepang, trails in second place with 245 points.

Rossi, 30, also has 250cc and 125cc titles to his name, making him a nine-time world champion. His seven titles in the premier class puts him only behind Italy's Giacomo Agostini, who won eight between 1966 and 1975.

0 Jenson Button : 2009 world champion!

Jenson Button has joined the elite group of race drivers to have won the world championship. His fifth position in Sunday’s Brazilian Grand Prix was enough to clinch the title from Sebastian Vettel and Rubens Barrichello.

Button is the tenth British champion following in the footsteps of Mike Hawthorn, Graham Hill, Jim Clark, John Surtees, Jackie Stewart, James Hunt, Nigel Mansell, Damon Hill and the out-going champion Lewis Hamilton.

His string of six wins from the first seven races equalled a record set by Clark and Michael Schumacher and formed the foundation of his championship campaign. While his final win of the season came at Istanbul in June - pending the last round of the season in Abu Dhabi - since then he was able to score points on a regular basis much to the frustration of his rivals.

Button has had his fair share of critics for his performance in the second half of the championship, but had he started the season with points paying finishes and ended the season with a string of victories, his success would have, arguably, been seen in a differing light.

He may not have the flair of some of his rivals and may not put the car right on the limit week in week out, but his Brazilian race was a very good performance and with more points than his rivals, he has achieved his career objective of championship success following many years of loyalty to Honda and its new successor, Brawn GP.

In view of his team having taken the constructors' crown as well, Button's title caps what has been a fairytale success story for the Brawn team, an outfit which came close to shutting its doors mere weeks before the 2009 championship began. The BGP 001 completed its first on-track testing only a month before the season's first race

Biography

Jenson Button’s breakthrough Formula One win finally came with Honda at the 2006 Hungarian Grand Prix. For the man himself it was vindication of his controversial decision to buy himself out of his contract with Williams - the team that gave him his race debut back in 2000. For his fans and admirers it was merely proof of what they knew all along - that the Englishman just needed the right equipment to get the job done!

Before his Formula One dry spell, winning had been something of a habit for Button. As an eight year-old he had triumphed in his first karting race, despite starting from the back of the grid in wet conditions. Crowned the British Cadet kart champion aged 10, he took the same series with even greater ease the following year after winning all 34 races.

Quickly outgrowing his home competition, a string of international karting titles followed. Button became the youngest winner of the European Super A championship and the youngest runner-up in the Formula A world championship. He completed his karting career with victory in the 1997 Ayrton Senna Memorial Cup at Suzuka, before making the inevitable move to single-seaters.

In 1998 he won the highly competitive British Formula Ford championship at his first attempt with nine wins for Haywood Racing. He also took victory in the Formula Ford Festival, finished second in the European championship and landed the prestigious McLaren/Autosport Young Driver of the Year Award. So rapid was his career progress that Button already seemed like a big fish in a small pond and he promptly moved up to British Formula Three for 1999.

Claiming three victories, seven podiums and third overall in his debut season, Button fully deserved his ‘Rookie of the Year’ honour and it wasn’t long before his successes were rewarded with a Formula One test. First for McLaren and then for Prost, Button wowed with his pace and ability, before Williams offered him a race drive for 2000.

Williams’ decision to sign Button - at 20, Britain’s youngest ever Grand Prix driver - resulted in unparalleled hype and expectation, but the scrutiny didn’t affect their new star’s performance. Indeed, a point in his second race, third on the grid at Spa and eighth in the championship meant the young Briton’s reputation as a smooth and unflappable driver remained firmly intact, even if he did score less than half the points of team mate Ralf Schumacher.

In spite of his apparent success, Button was farmed out by Williams to Benetton for the next two years. The time proved largely frustrating. His 2001 performances were hampered by a difficult car, while in 2002 he struggled to match team mate Jarno Trulli in qualifying and was left disappointed by a run of bad luck in races. He was replaced by Fernando Alonso for 2003, but would show his mettle once more following a move to BAR.

Button’s mature performances that year helped see the future Honda squad through a difficult season and he overshadowed veteran team mate Jacques Villeneuve in the process. The next year Villeneuve was replaced by Takuma Sato and, as such, Button became the team’s number-one. With the Honda-BAR partnership at last finding its feet, the British driver scored 10 podiums and finished an impressive third in the drivers’ championship, despite not winning a single race. The only sour note was the long-running dispute over who had the future rights to Button’s services. Williams was ultimately the answer, though their protege would eventually remain with BAR/Honda, after successfully negotiating a release from his contract.

Over recent seasons, many have questioned whether Button made the right decision. After their runners-up position in 2004, BAR fell to sixth in the constructors’ championship the following year, and although a Honda takeover in 2006 helped bring Button that deserved and emotional first win at the Hungaroring, the team’s form subsequently declined, culminating in Honda’s withdrawal from Formula One at the end of 2008.

The left Button’s career in limbo for a few months, before a management buyout of the former Honda team put him back on the grid for 2009. Brawn GP proved to be a revelation, with Button winning six of the first seven races en route to finally securing his first drivers' title with one round of the season to spare.

Microsoft plans to release Microsoft Office 2010 Starter freely without pay nothing to call. However, when accessing these applications, users will be presented with ads.

The presence of these Office 2010 Starter replaces Microsoft Works, economical version of Office application series which has been impressed with Microsoft covered up. Free applications that will be available in new computers that use Windows operating system in the near future.

In the new computers there will be no trial version of Office as included in Windows Vista. However, users who want a full version of Office 2010 can perform the actual activation programs already installed product key purchase card.

Akhirnya dunia mengakui batik merupakan salah satu warisan umat manusia yang dihasilkan oleh bangsa Indonesia. Pengakuan serta penghargaan itu akan disampaikan secara resmi oleh United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Culture Organization (UNESCO).

Pengakuan UNESCO itu diberikan terutama karena penilaian terhadap keragaman motif batik yang penuh makna filosofi mendalam. Di samping itu pemerintah dan rakyat Indonesia juga dinilai telah melakukan berbagai langkah nyata untuk lindungi dan melestarikan warisan budaya itu secara turun menurun.

Atas perkembangan ini Presiden SBY menyambut baik kabar tersebut. Sebagai bentuk apresiasi baik terhadap batik dan penghargaan UNESCO itu, Presiden SBY meminta seluruh warga negara mengenakan batik pada 2 Oktober 2009.

Batik memang tidak hanya dihasilkan oleh Indonesia. Malaysia, Singapura, dan India merupakan negara yang masyarakatnya mengenal dan menghasilkan batik. Tapi UNESCO mengakui bahwa Batik Indonesia mempunyai teknik dan simbol budaya yang menjadi identitas rakyat Indonesia mulai dari lahir sampai meninggal. hal itu terlihat dari bayi yang digendong dengan kain batik bercorak simbol yang membawa keberuntungan, dan yang meninggal ditutup dengan kain batik. Selain itu, pakaian dengan corak sehari-hari juga dipakai secara rutin dalam kegiatan bisnis dan akademis. Sementara berbagai corak lainnya dipakai dalam upacara pernikahan, kehamilan, juga dalam wayang, kebutuhan non-sandang dan berbagai penampilan kesenian. Kain batik bahkan memainkan peran utama dalam ritual tertentu.

Berbagai corak Batik Indonesia menandakan adanya berbagai pengaruh dari luar mulai dari kaligrafi Arab, burung phoenix dari Cina, bunga ceri dari Jepang sampai burung merak dari India atau Persia. Tradisi membatik Indonesia juga diturunkan dari generasi ke generasi. Ini memperlihatkan batik terkait dengan identitas budaya rakyat indonesia. Berbagai arti simbolik dari warna dan corak mengekspresikan kreatifitas dan spiritual rakyat Indonesia.

UNESCO memasukkan Batik Indonesia ke dalam Daftar Representatif karena telah memenuhi kriteria, antara lain kaya dengan simbol-simbol dan filosofi kehidupan rakyat Indonesia, serta memberi kontribusi bagi terpeliharanya warisan budaya tak-benda pada saat ini dan di masa mendatang. Dalam menyiapkan nominasi, para pihak terkait telah melakukan berbagai aktivitas, termasuk melakukan penelitian di lapangan, pengkajian, seminar, dan sebagainya untuk mendiskusikan isi dokumen dan memperkaya informasi secara bebas dan terbuka.

Depbudpar menyatakan bahwa perjuangan supaya Batik Indonesia diakui UNESCO ini melibatkan banyak pihak, baik pemerintah, para pengrajin, pakar, asosiasi pengusaha dan yayasan atau lembaga batik, serta masyarakat luas. Perwakilan RI di negara anggota Tim Juri yaitu di Persatuan Emirat Arab, Turki, Estonia, Meksiko, Kenya dan Korea Selatan serta UNESCO-Paris turut memegang peranan penting dalam memperkenalkan batik secara lebih luas kepada para anggota Tim Juri, sehingga mereka lebih seksama mempelajari dokumen nominasi Batik Indonesia.

Sebelumnya, Pemerintah Indonesia telah memasukkan Batik Indonesia ke dalam Daftar Inventaris Mata Budaya Indonesia. Pada 2003 dan 2005 UNESCO telah mengakui Wayang dan Keris sebagai Karya Agung Budaya Lisan dan Tak-benda Warisan Manusia (Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity). Pemerintah terus memperjuangkan pengakuan atas karya budaya lain bangsa Indonesia. Sekarang ini yang tengah diperjuangkan adalah musik kulintang, naskah Negara Kertagama versi Majapahit dan epos La Galigo asal Bugis.
